rudyiskandar SG Yeah, and judging from your arguments, it seems that there are'nt any difference between a poly grad and a local uni grad. No wonder the newspaper are claiming that poly grad have a better chances of finding a job during this economy crisis compared to a local uni grad!
CX SG there is essentially no difference... u cut the 2 open, they both bleed red. unless u alien lah... then u bled funky blue, neon green or polka dots lor... face it... in boom time, u get a good job even if u're just an n-level or an ite... in bad times, u can't get job even if u're a 1st class hons or MBA cos no one wants to pay u that much thats what companies are essentially doing now... u hire a grad, even if u give him a low starting pay, he's gonna want a raise pretty soon or he'll walk out once the economy gets better. poly grads got lower wage ceiling... so they're considerably cheaper to hire now. and i think its not that there's NO jobs lor... but some grads got issues lah... a bit choosy, a bit anal... other people's freedom what u can't stop a guy from wanting to bum... doesn't take a grad to figure this out if u ask me...
ChicagoBlues SG Don't despair poly. Guys - my brother was also from NA ploy . later went Western Mchigan Uni. & now working @ a Fortune 200 company (which have abt 200 subsidiaries worldwide). He is now a industrial pdt designer . He also handles deal worth millions of $ in his previous job as a sales engineer handling Ford, etc account also in the same cos' subsidiary. In addition, Sim wong hoo , Creative boss also did well - also from NA poly. So the bottom line is tt a degree is just a basic ( be a local or foreign Uni degress) , what matters most is your attitude in life .
CX SG three cheers! at last! someone who knows what the real world is all about! totally agree with u on this point... i've known 'n' level grads who've made good and are now swimming in money and MBAs who are now rotting unemployed and eating maggi mee every day... most people who made good didn't do it with fluffy theories. they did it through hard work, sacrifices and financial prudence. they don't teach that enough in schools.
